SSV Community Digest — Issue #2
Hello Altair! Welcome to the second issue of the SSV Community Digest. Happy reading.
With over 8 Million ETH staked on the Eth2 network, it becomes evident how important SSV is for the future of Eth2 Staking.
Still not sure what SSV is all about? Crypto Malaysia did a Low Cap Gem Introduction to the SSV.Network explaining all the nitty-gritty facts of SSV. A must-watch and a brilliant analysis of why it is so valuable.
Choosing your SSV staking operator according to performance is still in its infancy. But, very soon, it will become the standard, so it’s good to know your operators. Blockscape was a guest in the Know Your Operator series, talking about their plans and vision around SSV. A colorful and charming group of people.
This week, the SSV.Network DAO was in demand with a successful vote on the Partner Program for Genesis Partners and others. Companies like Coinbase, Digital Currency Group, Lukka, Stakewith.us, RockX, Staking.com, and others are officially part of the SSV.Network. Welcome, all🤝.
The DAO also agreed on two grants covering the formal verification of the SSV protocol and the integration of SSV into Stereum. Stefan from Stereum explained the integration of SSV in his brilliant Stereum Node Setup tutorial video.
We don’t stop here. There are two new votes online.
A quick take on DAO Votes: Votes are the heart and soul of a successful DAO. So if you’re a proud SSV user, please take the time to express your opinion on all proposals. Every vote counts, every opinion matters💗.
If you still hold your SSV on a CEX, consider moving it to a wallet address so that you can participate in future votes. The DAO needs you. The DAO is you.

🤔 SSV Operator Hardware Recommendations
asif asked about the hardware recommendation for an SSV operator node and received a brilliant answer from Voss, a verified SSV operator.
“As an operator you have to go above and beyond minimum recommendations since you are taking on the responsibility of validating on other peoples behalfs also you should be running eth1 and ETH2 full clients on your machine that runs your operator to maximize decentralization. So you’ll need everything your eth1 and ETH2 programs require and recommend and even more RAM for the SSV client. I personally use no less than a quad core i7 64gb RAM 760GB NVMe. And have another on an even more powerful setup. But 32GB RAM and 1TB NVMe are a good place to start and get a solid processor. But there’s so much variation there i don’t have a recommendation for CPU.”
🤔 The DAO Process
Sp00ky Gh0st raised a good question on the DAO process of how a proposal might get canceled in the execution queue after being successfully voted through and received clarification by Alon Muroch.
“If for example it’s details are missing/ not understood by the multisig committee. For example say you have a proposal to send 100ETH to an unknown address and by some chance it gets through…”
This is a good opportunity to get more familiar with the SSV DAO Guidelines if you haven’t yet.
🤔 Client Diversity with Blox Staking and SSV
tafoz from the Blox Staking community had an interesting question about how and if Blox uses the same client for all validators, and received an SSV related answer from our friend Eran Efrima.
“For the time being, we do use Prysm. We’ll be adding multi-client support in the upcoming weeks. You can expect to see it for yourself soon. It is very important for decentralization, if you combine multi-client support and ssv, imagine the possibilities.”
🚀 DAO Updates
Two new DAO votes are currently online, waiting for your pick.
🤝 Second, the request to add Community Ambassadors and Moderators to the DAO Partner Program is online now.
🎁 Out of the Blox (Staking)
TL;Didn’t make it (to Altair)
Blox Staking users were well prepared for the Altair upgrade, although not everyone installed the necessary updates.
According to Alon Muroch, the CEO of Blox, around 140 validators (~50 users) did not update their Blox Staking KeyVault, which resulted in their validators being offline. If you are one of those users, please update your blox live app first and then your KeyVault (Version 1.4). Don’t waste any money💸.
👨💻 Tools & Code
Pretty empty this time. Let’s code something, and let us know about it.
