Grant from the Ethereum Foundation to Develop Secret Shared Validator Nodes for Ethereum 2.0.

More information on the development grant received by Blox Staking to start work on SSV.

Great to finally make it official! As part of the project development team, Blox received a grant from the Ethereum Foundation to develop SSV (Secret Shared Validator) nodes. SSV was defined by Vitalik as one of the components in the Eth2 roadmap:

SSV development has already begun alongside key contributors from the Ethereum Foundation and additional industry leaders. The grant will be used to expedite development efforts and for smart contract auditing purposes.

SSV will allow for more secure, decentralized ETH staking by splitting validator signing keys between different parties in a trustless and secure way.

Up next is creating a testnet where multiple parties are able to perform signing duties. The testnet will be available in a few weeks’ time.

Currently, most of the development efforts are happening in house by the Blox core team. We would like to take this opportunity to call on more contributors to join us! If you’d like to join in, reach out on Discord or check out the project github to review or add some code :).

Also, a huge shoutout to the people that have and continue to make this project a reality by contributing their time and energy to the SSV cause; Mara, Collin, Dankrad, Aditya, and Carl.
